Overview
Grant O’Hickey joined Gunster in 2021. He focuses his practice on commercial litigation and e-discovery.
Grant strives to achieve creative and collaborative solutions for his clients by understanding their business objectives and providing an individualized assessment of their claims. He uses his background as senior in-house counsel for a Fortune 300 company, where he directed trial and appellate litigation toward loss-mitigating and value-creating conclusions. Grant’s experience positions him to understand a company’s need for proactive litigation counsel.
Before law school, Grant enjoyed solving problems in a different sphere: international affairs. He was an International Affairs Scholar at the Ohio State University, where he studied business, French, Russian, and Swedish. He later worked in the International Affairs Office of the United States Coast Guard in Washington, D.C., while studying comparative political and economic systems at Georgetown University. Desiring to better understand the rules that govern international disputes, Grant chose to attend the University of Texas School of Law, served as a research associate to Professor A. Mechele Dickerson, and spent a semester studying European history and law at Universität St. Gallen in St. Gallen, Switzerland.
When not practicing law, Grant enjoys strength training, travel, studying history, and spending time with family.
