Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is proud to announce that Jonathan K. Osborne, the managing shareholder of the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office and co-chair of the White Collar Defense & Internal Investigations practice group, has been named a 2024 South Florida Business Journal “40 Under 40” honoree. The newest class of honorees was celebrated at an awards luncheon and featured in a special edition of the South Florida Business Journal.
The South Florida Business Journal 40 Under 40 is a prestigious and competitive annual awards program that showcases the region’s next generation of business leaders. Honorees are selected based on their professional achievements, leadership skills, community involvement and innovation.
“I’m grateful to have been recognized by South Florida Business Journal as a 2024 40 Under 40 honoree,” stated Osborne. “I owe all I’ve accomplished as a leader and as a professional to hard work and to my mentors who have offered sage advice, invited me to join them at business meetings and in courtrooms, and encouraged me to lead by serving. I’m also thankful to Gunster’s leadership and every member of our team for their support.”
Osborne is a first-chair trial lawyer and counselor to organizations and individuals in complex civil and white collar matters and internal investigations. He has extensive experience as a former federal prosecutor, where he led hundreds of criminal investigations and represented the United States in jury trials and appeals. In addition, Osborne is a dedicated leader and mentor within Gunster and the legal community. He established the firm’s Leadership Training Academy, which has brought leadership and legal training to more than 100 law students across Florida in just three years. He also serves on the teaching faculty in the Harvard Law School Criminal Justice Institute’s trial advocacy workshop, and has taught in the Florida State University College of Law Juris Master Program. He previously founded a mentorship program for local high schools while a prosecutor, and he won the athletic department’s community service award while playing college basketball at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks.
Osborne received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, his M.A. from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, and a B.A. from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks.
