The American Water Resources Association, Florida section, will hold its technical meeting on Friday, May 15, 2015, at the offices of the Lake Worth Drainage District, 13081 S. Military Trail, Delray Beach. Register today.

The meeting is being jointly hosted by AWRA Florida and the Florida Institute of Consulting Engineers.

Tour Opportunity

In addition, an optional tour of the South Florida Water Management District’s L-8 Flow Equalization Basin project, which is currently under construction in western Palm Beach County, is being offered to meeting attendees on the morning of May 15.

The L-8 FEB project, part of SFWMD’s $880 million Restoration Strategies program to improve the Everglades water quality, is a deep-storage impoundment intended to improve the performance of Stormwater Treatment Areas 1E and 1W.

Note: The tour cost is $15 per person and includes transportation to and from the site from SFWMD’s Field Operations Center at 8894 Belvedere Road (between the Turnpike and Royal Palm Beach).
