WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (November 14, 2013) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce that shareholder Nicole Atkinson has been appointed to the 2013-14 board of directors of the Women’s Foundation of Palm Beach County. She joins fellow new board members Shelly Albright, Kalinthia Dillard and Dorothy Jacks for a two-year term that began in September.
The Women’s Foundation was founded in 2007 by a group of local leaders who share a commitment to investing in women and girls to encourage leadership and positively affect their economic, political and social status. Women’s Foundations are philanthropic organizations that direct their resources to efforts that directly benefit women and girls. Forty years ago, there were no funding organizations dedicated to women. Today, there are over 120 such organizations throughout the country – including one in Palm Beach County.
Atkinson focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation, professional liability defense, and estate, trust and guardianship litigation. She joined Gunster in 1999 and is a member of the firm’s diversity committee.
