Munson has joined the firm in its Tallahassee office. He will focus his practice on water resources and water rights as a member of the firm’s environmental & land use practice.

Mr. Munson is a former deputy secretary for water policy at Florida’s Department of Environmental Protection. In that role, Mr. Munson supervised the department’s activities related to Everglades restoration, the state’s water management districts, and the state’s coastal and aquatic managed areas. Recently, Mr. Munson acted as a lead negotiator for Governor Rick Scott’s historic $880 million water quality agreement with the federal government, providing a long-term plan for Everglades restoration.

Additionally, Mr. Munson has held a combination of private and public service positions, including: General Counsel for WRScompass, General Counsel for the Department of Environmental Protection, Prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office and Assistant General Counsel for Florida Governor Jeb Bush.

Mr. Munson is a former U.S. Air Force Captain and a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy. He was awarded the Southwest Asia Service medal and multiple Aerial Achievement medals.
