BOCA RATON, Fla. (July 17, 2009) — Robert C. White, Jr., a shareholder with Gunster, Attorneys at Law, was recently named to the board of directors of the Enterprise Development Corporation of South Florida (EDC), a non-profit organization that assists emerging science and technology companies. This is the first term for White, who began his involvement with the organization in February 2009.

The EDC works with local business leaders, investors, colleges, universities and government entities to create high-skill, high-wage jobs in industries that encourage economic growth. The organization also manages the Technology Business Incubator located in the Florida Atlantic University Research & Development Park, which provides flexible lease terms and shared resources for early-stage companies. As an EDC board member, White will assist EDC with its mission of providing emerging businesses with strategic development guidance. Fellow Gunster shareholder David G. Bates also serves on EDC’s board.

White, who joined Gunster in 2005, is a member of the firm’s Technology and Entrepreneurial Companies practice. He has 23 years of experience counseling clients on a broad range of corporate, technology and entrepreneurial company issues. White has been selected as one of the Best Lawyers in America for Technology Law for three consecutive years. He received his Bachelor of Science and Masters of Business Administration from Emory University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami.
