MIAMI, Fla. (June 12, 2009) — Kevin Levy, a member of Gunster’s Israel Practice Group and a founding board member of the Florida Israel Business Forum (FIBF), participated in a breakfast reception honoring Israel’s 61st Independence Day. The event was co-hosted by the City of Miami Mayor Manuel Diaz and Israel’s Consul General Ofer Bavly. It featured a special proclamation by Mayor Diaz and a tribute to Corporal Gilad Shalit, an Israeli soldier that was captured by the terrorist organization Hamas in June 2006 and is currently being held hostage. On behalf of Corporal Shalit, the Hon. Consul General Bavly accepted an honorary citizenship to the City of Miami, a rare honor bestowed by Mayor Diaz.
