FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
West Palm Beach, FL (November 1, 2008)—George LeMieux, the former chief of staff and senior political strategist to Florida Governor Charlie Crist, will provide election night commentary for “Dan Rather Reports On Politics: Election Night 2008.” The program airs on HDNet, Tuesday, November 4 beginning at 7 P.M. LeMieux will join Rather at a studio in Washington D.C.

LeMieux is currently Chairman of the prestigious statewide law firm Gunster. He also authors a weekly electronic newsletter called “The LeMieux Report” (www.TheLemieuxReport.com) which offers insightful analysis of key legislative and legal issues that impact Florida’s business community.

LeMieux engineered Crist’s successful campaign for governor in 2006 and in fact received the prestigious “Pollie” award from the American Association of Political Consultants as the nation’s “MVP” in a Republican campaign for that year. After helping to get Crist elected, LeMieux then served as his Chief of Staff and was affectionately referred to as “The Maestro” by the Governor.

When Crist served as Florida’s Attorney General, LeMieux was his top deputy overseeing a legal staff of 400 and leading compact negotiations with the Seminole Tribe of Indians. LeMieux was with Gunster from 1994 to 2002 and rejoined in January following his stint in public service. He now runs the firm, which has 140 attorneys and eight offices strategically located throughout Florida.
