WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (March 11, 2009) — The law firm of Gunster has promoted three attorneys from its West Palm Beach office to firm shareholders: Robert H. Friedman, John C. Moran and Nicholas W. Robbins. The firm has also promoted Jennifer Nicole from its Ft. Lauderdale office to shareholder.

Friedman, a member of the firm’s Business Litigation Practice Group, is one of the few attorneys in Florida who represent corporate policyholders in disputes with their insurance companies, and has litigated insurance and other complex commercial disputes in various state and federal courts. He focuses on difficult insurance coverage issues, including property damage, bodily injury, environmental liability, products liability, director and officer liability, intellectual property liability, business interruption, and crime and fidelity matters. A Harvard Law School graduate, Friedman joined Gunster in 2006 from the New York office of Dickstein Shapiro LLP, a recognized national leader in the area of policyholder-side insurance coverage work.

Moran, a member of the firm’s Private Wealth Services and Probate Litigation practice groups, concentrates his practice in probate, trust and guardianship litigation, which includes representation of fiduciaries and beneficiaries; will and trust construction and contests; trust modification, revocation and termination actions; and surcharge and removal litigation. Actively involved in numerous professional and community organizations, Moran is a member of the Florida Bar’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section and the Palm Beach County Bar Association, where he serves as vice chair of the Estate and Probate Law CLE committee. He also currently serves as the treasurer of the Palm Beach County chapter of the American Inns of Court and is co-chair of the South Florida chapter of the George Washington University Alumni Association.

Robbins, a member of the firm’s Technology and Entrepreneurial Companies and Corporate practice groups,is widely recognized for his expertise in venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate and strategic guidance. He is actively involved in the South Florida entrepreneur, Internet and technology community, and serves as chair of the Board of Directors of the Angel Investment Forum of Florida (AIFFL). Robbins has completed more than $200 million in venture capital transactions and more than $1 billion in mergers and acquisitions transactions. Prior to joining Gunster in 2005, Robbins worked in Boston in the wealth management division of UBS Financial Services, Inc. and at the law firm of Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault, LLP.

Jennifer Nicole, a member of the firm’s Business Litigation Practice Group, concentrates her practice in commercial and business litigation; patent, trademark and copyright litigation; real property litigation; and land use litigation. Actively involved in the community, she is the Community Vice-President for Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale and has served on the Board for two years. Prior to that, she chaired the League’s Annual Riverwalk Run in downtown Fort Lauderdale for several years, which attracts more than 1,200 runners and raises more than $50,000 annually for the League’s community projects.
