Fort Lauderdale, Fla. —Gunster Yoakley attorney Robert C. White recently addressed the Gold Coast Venture Capital Association as part of a panel discussion regarding public securities offering issues. Hosted by the MIT Enterprise Forum of South Florida, Gold Coast Venture Capital Association and the Association for Corporate Growth South Florida, the event was entitled “Are you Ready for IPO? Strategies and Steps for How and When to Take Your Company Public.”
White, a shareholder in the Corporate Department of Gunster Yoakley based in its Fort Lauderdale office, provided legal insight into the intricacies of going public, the associated risks and benefits, and how to navigate a complex area that combines law, securities and technology. The panel discussion also included an encore presentation of the program that was previously presented via MIT Satellite Broadcast.
“My goal is to assist potential and current entrepreneurs in their business and financial endeavors,” said White, who regularly counsels entrepreneurs, business entities and executives on legal and business matters. “I know how difficult it can be to get a firm grip on the market and this panel discussion offered important advice, information and perspective on best approaches to going public, as well as the optimum timing for an initial public offering.”
