Jacksonville, FL (AUGUST 28, 2008) — Gunster, Yoakley & Stewart, P.A. announces the addition of associates Whitney K. McGuire and James O. Birr III to their Jacksonville, Florida office.
McGuire concentrates her practice on complex commercial litigation, environmental litigation and environmental solutions and has vast experience as an engineer in fine chemical manufacturing operations. She is admitted to practice law in Florida and California. Ms. McGuire earned her Bachelor of Chemical Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology and Juris Doctor at Washington University where she was a member of the prestigious Order of the Coif.
Birr concentrates his practice in construction and commercial litigation. He is Florida Bar board certified in construction law. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2000 and is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, Middle District and Northern District of Florida, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit. Birr is involved in the North Florida community as president of the University of North Florida Alumni Association Board of Directors and a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association. Birr earned his Bachelor of Arts summa cum laude at the University of North Florida, and Juris Doctor with honors at the University of Florida.
