Young professionals organization donates proceeds of event to American Cancer Society

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL-Orbis, a nonprofit organization for young South Florida business professionals recently hosted Part II of its Speaking Series featuring Coach Howard Schnellenberger.

The event was held at the Tom Oxley Athletic Center on the Florida Atlantic University Boca Raton campus. The evening began with a cocktail reception, followed by Coach Schnellenberger sharing his thoughts on success with Orbis members, citing FAU’s resounding victory in the New Orleans Bowl as an example.

“Coach Schnellenberger was a great draw for our event,” said Michael Schimmel, a real estate attorney at Gunster Yoakley and co-founder/board member of Orbis. “He is truly a legend in South Florida college football and is very inspirational.”

A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to the American Cancer Society in honor of Coach Schnellenberger’s son, Stephen, who succumbed recently to a rare form of cancer.

“Orbis strongly encourages charitable giving and generally incorporates a philanthropic component to each event,” added David C. Scileppi, a corporate and securities attorney at Gunster Yoakley and co-founder/board member of Orbis.
