FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL—(November 12, 2008) Orbis, a non-profit organization for South Florida business professionals, recently hosted its 1st Annual Spares and Strikes to raise funds for the American Red Cross of Broward County. The event was held at Strikes @ Boca in Boca Raton.

All who attended had a great time bowling, noshing on pizza and networking. The event’s raffle boasted prizes such as: Miami Heat opening night tickets, bowling and pizza parties from Strikes @ Boca, and a gift basket from the American Red Cross of Broward including tickets to the organization’s spring event.

“We thank Strikes @ Boca for holding our event,” said David C. Scileppi, a banking and securities attorney at Gunster Yoakley and co-founder/board member of Orbis. “Everyone who attended had a wonderful time, while raising money for such a great cause.”

“It so important to support our local American Red Cross,” said Beth Cohen, community relations manager of Boardroom Communications and board member of Orbis. “Most of us only think of the Red Cross when there is a disaster or crisis, but it operates all year long and provides many services to the community.”

Orbis is composed of individuals who are dedicated to the growth and viability of the local economy. The organization sponsors social gatherings, panels, and speakers to which the entire South Florida business community is invited to attend. In addition, Orbis works with local charities and other non-profit organizations. These events provide for an opportunity to develop personal and business relationships while helping build a vibrant South Florida.
