Gunster attorney Brian Seymour

Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce that shareholder Brian M. Seymour was inducted as incoming chairman, effective October 1, 2023, of the Business Development Board (BDB) of Palm Beach County board of directors during the organization’s annual gala. Of note, Gunster is the only firm to have two chairmen in this role; Gunster shareholder Michael V. Mitrione formerly chaired the board as well.

Founded in 1982 by Chambers of Commerce, the Economic Council, and other business leaders, the BDB is designated by the State of Florida and Palm Beach County Commission as Palm Beach County’s official economic development organization. The BDB works to achieve economic development goals in the areas of business recruitment and expansion, job creation, workforce development, infrastructure and availability of capital.

“Palm Beach County has seen tremendous progress, much of it due to the great work of the BDB,” stated Seymour. “It is an honor to have the opportunity to work to keep our county moving forward as chair, and I look forward to making a positive impact on the BDB and our county as a whole.”

“Brian’s role as chairman of the BDB will be instrumental in facilitating key corporate relocations and expansions within Palm Beach County. Together, we aim to establish Palm Beach County as the premier global business destination,” stated Kelly Smallridge, President and CEO of the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County (BDB).

Seymour serves as co-chair of Gunster’s Real Property practice where he represents land owners and developers in matters of land use, zoning, comprehensive planning and environmental resource permitting, as well as eminent domain, land use and constitutional property rights litigation. He is invested in many local organizations, including the Economic Council of Palm Beach County, Chambers of Commerce, and the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County. Seymour also served as the vice chair of the Florida Elections Commission and is an active member of Leadership Florida.

Seymour earned his B.A. from San Francisco State University and J.D. from Fordham University School of Law.
