’Tis the season for giving and the attorneys and guests at the Gunster Yoakley holiday party made it a reality this year as the firm gathered gifts for Jack & Jill Children’s Center. Several hundred toys and games were donated upon arrival at the Ft. Lauderdale Antique Car Museum, where the Fort Lauderdale office of Gunster Yoakley held its annual holiday festivities.
“We strongly believe in giving back to the community, and we’ve made it an annual tradition to encourage donations at our holiday party,” said Daniel Mackler, an attorney with Gunster Yoakley in Fort Lauderdale. “Jack & Jill Children’s Center does such important and valuable work, and it is right in our own backyard, so this was the perfect recipient for our collection.” Mackler noted that the firm collected and donated gifts to the Jack and Jill Children’s Center last year, as well.
More than 200 people attended the party and brought items ranging from classic books and games such as Madeline and Scrabble to model cars, Play-Doh, yo-yos, tops, coloring books and crayons, puzzles and cards.
In addition to the gift donation, attendees learned a great deal about classic cars as they toured the unique museum that houses an extensive and remarkable collection of Packards, other cars and memorabilia.
Jack & Jill Children’s Center helps break the cycle of poverty for children of low-income working families in Broward County through family-oriented child care, education and family support services.
