The annual “Toys for Tots Bike Run” was once again a huge success. The event, which attracted some 33,000 motorcyclists, closed the streets of Broward County en route from Pompano Harness Track to Markham Park. Participating in the lead group was Jim Davis, shareholder at the firm of Gunster Yoakley, who has traveled this road for the past 10 years.

“It’s a tradition to be a part of this annual bike run,” said Davis, who rides a Harley Davidson Dyna Wide Glide. “The cause is a great one – being able to help gather toys during the holidays for the millions of children who live in poverty. But equally important is the fun, the camaraderie and the sheer joy of riding with 33,000 other bike enthusiasts every year.”

Of late, Davis has been part of the VIP group that rides ahead of the pack. He says that the run is a magnet for bike owners throughout the tri-county area. “Doctors, attorneys CEOs, entrepreneurs, teachers, real estate professionals, construction workers – people from all walks of life – come out for this event. People are often surprised to see who rides a bike!” he noted.

Davis, based in Fort Lauderdale, is a member of the firm’s Corporate Department.

Toys for Tots is a 59-year tradition of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves and is an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) not-for-profit public charity.
