Nic Soulellis is an associate in Gunster’s Business Litigation and Creditor Rights & Bankruptcy groups. Being raised by business owners, and being hands-on in the business himself, Nic understands that each business faces inevitable challenges at every stage. By way of his experience, Nic works closely with his clients and colleagues to provide high-level insight and develop creative solutions to these challenging situations. Nic’s experience includes, but is not limited to, matters involving contractual disputes, trade secret misappropriation, non-compete litigation, business to business disputes, internal shareholder disputes, tortious interference, and business divorces, whether in state, federal, or bankruptcy court.

Nic graduated cum laude from Stetson University College of Law, where he was the recipient of the Judge Alexander Paskay Bankruptcy Award, an award presented to the “student who has shown outstanding performance in a bankruptcy course.” During law school, Nic had the privilege of externing for Chief Judge Caryl E. Delano of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida and Judge Amanda A. Sansone of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. While gaining insight and experience during his externships, Nic also served as a teaching assistant for four Legal Research and Writing courses and for Bankruptcy, while also serving as an editor of the Stetson Journal of Aging Law and the Stetson Journal of Advocacy and the Law.

Prior to joining Gunster in 2023, Nic worked at a small business law firm in the Tampa Bay area, where he handled business litigation and transactional matters for clients, including startups, family-owned businesses, and mid-size businesses. Nic’s scope of transactional matters included asset purchase agreements, stock and membership interest purchase agreements, service agreements, employment and independent contractor agreements, and promissory notes and mortgages, among others.

Outside of the office, Nic enjoys trying new foods, going to concerts, and cheering on the Montreal Canadiens, Green Bay Packers, and Miami Heat.
