WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (July 23, 2018) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, today announced that it was named one of the “Best Companies to Work For” in 2018 by Florida Trend magazine.
Gunster ranked 19th in the large-company (250+ employees) category and is the highest-ranked Florida-centric company in the category.
Florida Trend’s “Best Companies” honor is a rigorous competition and many companies seek this honor.
Gunster’s “people-first culture,” benefits and bonuses, staff appreciation efforts and wellness programs all contribute to the firm’s reputation as a top employer, according to confidential employee surveys. The average length of employment is 12 years, and many employees spend their entire career with the firm.

The annual competition identifies and recognizes Florida’s best employers in small, medium and large categories. It was created by Florida Trend and the Best Companies Group and is endorsed by the HR Florida State Council. Honorees were selected after a thorough, two-step process involving an evaluation of the workplace, its policies, practices, philosophies, and demographics; in addition to a random and confidential survey of company employees designed to measure their engagement and satisfaction.
According to the surveys, one employee stated that the “firm cares about the employees and treats us well. We feel valued.” Yet another survey revealed that “Although the firm certainly focuses on the business side of running a law firm, the work environment and human side always comes first. This people first culture makes it a pleasant and enjoyable place to work.” Another shared that “firm leadership is transparent and approachable; the positive team environment that our firm fosters is unlike any in our field.” Lastly, one employee stated “Gunster has a solid strategic plan and is implementing it. The firm emphasizes core values with which I wholeheartedly align and encourages community involvement which reflects good corporate citizenship.”
