Bill Schifino

Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce that William J. Schifino, Jr. has been elected to the Metropolitan Ministries Board of Directors.

Metropolitan Ministries is a volunteer and donor fueled nonprofit organization that aids homeless and at-risk men, women and children in the Tampa Metro area including Hillsborough, Pinellas, Polk and Pasco County. The leadership team is supported by a volunteer board of directors who utilize their combined passion and experience to make significant advances in the fight against homelessness and poverty.

“As the Tampa region continues to grow at a rapid pace, Metropolitan Ministries’ mission becomes increasingly impactful. I am humbled to join the board and to take part in the life-changing work the organization does to serve the community and provide hope to families in need,” stated Schifino.

Schifino serves on Gunster’s board of directors and is a board-certified specialist in the area of business litigation.  He served as president of The Florida Bar for the 2016-2017 term, and also previously served eight years as a member of the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission. Earlier this year, he was appointed to the board of the Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce. In that role, he collaborates with fellow Chamber leaders and local business leaders to help define the policy priorities of the Tampa Bay business community.

Schifino earned his B.A. from Tulane University and J.D. from University of Florida Levin College of Law.
