Both based in South Florida, Devin Moss joined the Miami office as a Business Litigation shareholder, while David Sawyer joined in Fort Lauderdale as an of counsel attorney in the Tax practice.
Moss is a well-connected trial attorney who adeptly represents small businesses and multinational companies across all phases of litigation, spanning from initial proceedings to appeals. He covers a wide range of matters, which encompass presuit investigations, strategic case management, fact and expert discovery, motion practice, pretrial negotiations, trial proceedings and appeals. His diverse litigation portfolio includes complex product liability cases involving wrongful death, personal injury, and intricate commercial disputes, serving clients in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, consumer products, oil and gas, real estate, and employment sectors. Devin’s focus lies in risk management, product safety, and minimizing product liability exposure, primarily in the defense of complex product liability cases, with extensive trial experience and expertise in large-scale multi-district cases.
Sawyer is a seasoned and analytical attorney who specializes in guiding public corporations, private entities, senior executives, and board members through the intricate realm of compensation and benefits. His overall legal counsel spans a broad spectrum, encompassing deferred compensation, incentive schemes, supplemental executive retirement plans, equity-based compensation, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, executive employment contracts, including severance agreements, and more. Leveraging his extensive background as a corporate controller and tax consultant, Sawyer combines his financial acumen with legal expertise to address various intricate employee benefit challenges that surface in business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, public offerings, and restructurings.
