WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (May 30, 2017) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce that it has selected six second-year law school students to obtain real-life work experience in the diverse, business-focused law firm offices of Gunster during the summer of 2017.

Participation in the Summer Associate Program can be the first step to becoming a Gunster attorney.

Summer associates work on assignments from a variety of the firm’s law practice areas, narrowing in on their individual legal interests as the summer progresses. The program offers them the opportunity to hone practical writing and analytical skills through a formal evaluation process, and receive valuable guidance from an assigned mentor and adviser.

All six will work out of Gunster’s South Florida offices, with access to staff and attorneys in the firm’s 13 offices located throughout the state. Most expect to graduate with a Juris Doctor degree in May of 2018.

Caitlin Conahan, 2017 Summer Associate | GunsterCaitlin Conahan attends law school at the University of Florida. She received her B.A. in Asian studies from Cornell University. She studied abroad, in Kyoto, Japan, in the spring of 2014 and speaks conversational Japanese.

Benjamin Fechter, 2017 Summer Associate | GunsterBenjamin Fechter also attends the UF law school, where he serves as an editor for the Florida Law Review. Last summer, he worked as a legal intern at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Tampa.

Nalani Gordon, 2017 Summer Associate | GunsterNalani Gordon attends the University of Miami law school, where she writes for the Race and Social Justice Law Review. She has a B.S. in criminal justice and a M.A. in elementary education – both from the University of Central Florida.

Andrew Piper, 2017 Summer Associate | GunsterAndrew Piper is a candidate for a J.D. and LL.M. in taxation from UM in December 2017. He also recently obtained his CPA license. In 2015, he served as judicial intern for federal court judge Jose E. Martinez in Miami.

 Christopher Seifter, 2017 Summer Associate | GunsterChristopher Seifter attends Florida State University law school, where he is a student ambassador and member of the Law Review. As an undergradate at FSU, he chaired the Student Foundation and served in the Student Senate.

Jin Xin, 2017 Summer Associate | GunsterJin Xin attends law school at the University of North Carolina. Last summer, she served as judicial intern for federal bankruptcy judge Laurel M. Isicoff in Miami. She is a native speaker of Mandarin and Cantonese.
