A Gunster team led by attorneys William Hill, Bob White and Scott Coffey, and assisted by Stephanie Quiñones, Holly Goodman and Cole Jackson, recently represented the owner in connection with the sale of SLS Consulting LLC to SOCOTEC USA. SOCOTEC USA was represented by DLA Piper (Chicago).

Established in 2012, SLS Consulting LLC is a premier team of consultants, engineers, construction and design professionals with operations in Miami, Boston, Atlanta, and New York who provide fire protection and life safety services. This includes code consulting, accessibility, smoke control, emergency management planning, construction project management planning, construction project management, code required inspections, litigation support and other compliance solutions.

SOCOTEC USA is a leading provider of TIC (Testing, Inspection, and Certification), consulting, and advisory services with a strategic focus on buildings and infrastructure.

This transaction allows SLS Consulting LLC to expand its client reach both nationally and internationally while deepening its service offerings.

“It has been our pleasure to represent Mike Sheehan and SLS as its principal counsel over the last several years and to see SLS grow into the industry leader that it has become,” said William Hill, who led Gunster’s team. “Mike has built an amazing team, and we believe that the new partnership with SOCOTEC will allow SLS to continue its growth and provide new opportunities for its innovative practice.”

“William and the entire Gunster team were instrumental in advising SLS in the years leading up to and during the transaction with SOCOTEC,” stated Sheehan, president of SLS. “The entire Gunster team’s approach to understanding and helping me understand my goals and objectives was extraordinary and done at a very personal level in all areas of Gunster’s practice. This extra effort enabled not only this transaction to happen, but set all parties up for long term success. I am beyond appreciative and grateful of all the personal and professional efforts of William Hill, Stephanie Quiñones, Scott Coffey, Cole Jackson, Holly Goodman and Bob White and pleased that we will continue working personally and professionally together in the years to come.”
